Roy W. Howard

Roy W. Howard served 32 years as a congregational pastor. He served congregations in Georgia, Kentucky, and Virginia, and Saint Mark Presbyterian Church in North Bethesda, Maryland from 2001-2019.

After retirement from the pastorate, Roy became an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation and currently serves as the Dean of the Academy of Artful Leadership. A certified facilitator for Healthy Congregations, Roy has applied these skills in a variety of settings and facilitates leadership retreats for pastor groups and congregations. His deep call is to generate growth of leadership skills and spiritual depth in those who work with him.

Roy is a graduate of Florida State University (MSW), Emory University Candler School of Theology (MDiv) and Wesley Theological Seminary (DMin). He enjoys birding, hiking and long distance pilgrimage walking, having completed the Camino de Santiago and the Camino Primitivo. Roy is married to Claudia. They have two married daughters, Rachel and Rebecca.
